What Is The Best Hotel To Stay In Before A Cruise Leaving Tampa?
My family and I will be taking a cruise in January and we are flying in a couple of days early becasue we found a cheaper flight. Now we are looking for a hotel that is close to the airport and to the port in Tampa. If any hotel have free shuttle service from the airport and to the port? Also, we don’t know if we should rent a car or could we just use the trolley to get around? Thanks for your help!

The “Doubletree Westshore” is a very nice hotel to stay at before or after your cruise. If you are bringing your personal vehicle, you can park free at the hotel. If you are flying in, they have a shuttle that will pick you up at the airport. The shuttle will also take you to the cruiseship terminal for a small extra fee.
There’s some hotels right by the port, if you can take a shuttle there. They’re somewhat expensive, but they’re close to the port…and then Channelside (which is right there) has restaurants and bowling and shops, so you can walk there or take a trolley. There’s trolleys that take you along Channelside (and the port), but that’s it. The hotels are Marriott and Embassy Suites.
In downtown there is hotel called the Hyatt and it is closed to channelside where the carnival ship is there.
We stayed in the Best Western near the airport and the cruise port. It was fine.
